WhoWeAre

Anne-Sofie and Eirik — married, curious, and drawn to stories that ask us to slow down.

Anne-Sofie & Eirik

We are Anne-Sofie Engelschiøn and Eirik — newly married when we set off for the Amazon. This site, Reflections from the Forest, is where we gather the images, thoughts, and reflections from those eleven days.

About the Yawanawá

The Yawanawá are an Indigenous people of the Brazilian Amazon, living along the Gregório River in the state of Acre. Known for their songs, traditions, and deep knowledge of the forest, they welcomed us into their daily life for eleven days — an experience that shaped how we see the world.

"We didn't go to change anything. We went to listen."

— Anne-Sofie Engelschiøn
