ReflectionsfromtheForest

Reflections from the Forest is a honeymoon journal from Anne-Sofie Engelschiøn and Eirik, telling the story of eleven days lived among the Yawanawá people deep in the Brazilian Amazon — through images, thoughts, and quiet reflection.

Why We Went

Shortly after we married, we left everything familiar behind and travelled to the heart of the Amazon. What began as a honeymoon became something deeper: eleven days living alongside the Yawanawá, learning the rhythm of forest life far from roads, screens, and schedules.

Eleven Days, One Story

A short montage from our days in the village — the light, the laughter, the long walks to the river.

"There was no rush in the village. Time moved with the sun, the river, and the songs."

— Anne-Sofie Engelschiøn
