Europe is electrifying faster than it can source what that takes.

The EU's Electrification Action Plan sets a target of 46% of final energy demand from electricity by 2040, roughly double today's share. Getting there depends on materials and infrastructure the continent does not yet fully control: lithium and other battery materials sit on the EU's critical raw materials list with binding 2030 sourcing benchmarks still far off. The next generation of nuclear power is being built against a fuel-cycle dependency the EU is only beginning to address. Grids built for a different century now have to carry a very different load, securely.

This Forum brings policymakers, financiers, researchers and infrastructure operators together in Vienna to compare notes before those benchmarks come due.
