TheMarkofCommunity-LedScotland

Community Led Scotland is a national initiative establishing a trusted badge for community-owned and community-run organisations right across Scotland — a visible signal that an enterprise is run or owned by, and for, its community.

From village halls and museums to tourism operators to land stewards, energy co-operatives to creative studios, community-led organisations already build wealth and resilience in the places they serve. The mark makes that leadership recognisable at a glance.

Why We're Different

Community-Run, For Community Organisations
The initiative is built and led by community organisations themselves — not imposed from outside.
A Trusted National Badge
The mark is a visible guarantee of authentic community leadership and wealth-building, recognisable to funders, policymakers and visitors alike.
Cross-Sector Reach
From tourism and land stewardship to energy, health, transport and the creative sectors, member organisations span the breadth of community-led work in Scotland.

Our Story

Community-led organisations across Scotland — from Scottish Community Tourism Network (SCOTO) members to Development Trusts, Community Woodlands, Circular Communities, Climate Cafe, Coastal Communities Network, Community Energy Scotland, Community Health Exchange, Community Transport Association and Creative Love — already build wealth and resilience in the places they serve.

Community Led Scotland exists to give that work a shared, trusted identity: a mark that says an organisation is owned and run by its own community, not an outside investor or authority. It is community run, for community organisations.
