Our Community Roots

Held at the Riverside Community Grounds in Coimbatore, the festival is built as a free, open gathering for the whole community — no ticket required to walk in, explore the kite displays, or join a workshop.

Over two days, the grounds fill with kite-making workshops, a dedicated children's activity area, local food and handicraft stalls, and cultural performances, turning a shared open space into a shared celebration.

Why Kites, Why Now

Kite flying is the thread that runs through the whole festival — from traditional and creative kite displays to family-friendly kite-making workshops where visitors design and fly their own. It's a tradition that needs no translation: everyone, of any age, can look up and take part.

The Hands Behind the Festival

The Coimbatore Cultural Kite Festival is organized by the Coimbatore Cultural Events Association, which brings the two-day programme together each year as a cultural festival for the wider Coimbatore community.

From the kite-making workshops to the evening entertainment and cultural performances, the festival programme is shaped to give visitors of every age something to take part in, not just watch.
