We’re bringing SCOTO 2026 into the heart of Glasgow find out what’s planned this year →All the key details you need are gathered on this page.
This year brings a few exciting changes to the Gathering. Instead of a single base hotel location, the SCOTO Gathering will take place at The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, just a short walk from Queen Street Station and the main bus station, with the SCOTO Gathering Supper and Civic Reception hosted at the National Piping Centre.
This means that delegates are free to choose from the wide range of accommodation that Glasgow has to offer - and thanks to Glasgow Life we have a list of near by hotels.
A huge thank you to our Gathering partners, Scottish Community Alliance and the Glasgow Convention Bureau as well as our Learning Exchange hosts.
Glasgow is well known for it's passionate communities - as we all "People Make Glasgow". So there's no surprise that there are many community-led tourism enterprises in Glasgow to visit. This year we have six to choose across Glasgow from Southside to Partick. (Accommodation and travel bursaries are available when you book a Learning Exchange at the checkout stage.)
New for 2026 we're introducing a series of knowledge exchanges on the first day of the Gathering. These curated conversation sessions, aimed at industry, agency and academic partners, will consider research relating to community-led tourism that is taking place across the UK.
We would be delighted if you can join us on Thursday evening at The National Piping Centre for a Civic Reception and our Gathering Supper.
This year as part of our SCOTO Gathering social value offer, SCOTO is subsidising places on an Invisible Cities walk - a guided walk by individuals with lived experience of homelessness. Taking place early in the morning before the Gathering conference, the walk offers a different perspective on the city while supporting Invisible Cities' ethical travel and community experiences in cities across the UK. Tickets are £16 - click below to book your space:

We're delighted to be bringing the SCOTO Gathering to Glasgow and to The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall with the main conference taking place on Friday 6 March. Communities across Scotland are already leading the way in Europe — revitalising local places, building regenerative visitor experiences, and demonstrating how tourism can be a genuine force for good in local communities.
This year’s Gathering will explore where community tourism is now, and how we move towards developing a framework for wider change.
